Painting, Drawing, & Transluscent Sculpture
Jane Eckenrode contemplates our connections to wild places through her study of changing shapes, effects and events of the native landscape. She hikes and kayaks natural areas with her sketchbook and conveys the experiences as paintings and sculptures. The landscape paintings and sculptures of moving water provide the viewer with a point of emotional reconnection to the wild.
In the past year Jane has shown sculptures of water at Somerhill Gallery in Chapel Hill, and had a painting selected for the March 2007 cover of the Journal of American Veterinary Medicine Association. She continues to develop museum exhibits and opens her studio to the public each December for the Chatham Studio Tour.
