The Art Department at the University of Virginia seeks a visiting
artist for the 2008/09 school year working in painting and drawing.
This is a non-renewable, temporary one-year visiting artist position.
We are a
fine arts program offering a 30 credit BA in the context of a liberal arts
institution. This position is for an artist who works in painting with
a love for drawing and should be fluent in water based as well as oil
painting mediums.
Teaching responsibilities include two course loads per
semester; one entry level class in beginning drawing and one in painting.
Classes meet Monday and Wednesday, 3:30 6:00 and 7:30 10:00 pm.
Salary is
$24,000 with limited benefits.
An MFA in Painting or equivalent experience
preferred with an emerging or extensive exhibition record.
