New Chatham Community Library Art Request for Qualifications

Chatham County is requesting statements of qualifications from artists for the following projects to be located in the Chatham Community Library. Artists will be selected based on qualifications, level of interest, and compatibility of their approach with the design of the library.
These projects are envisioned as collaborations between the architect and artists that integrates with the design of the building and site. The projects include:
1) a mural for the children’s program room (mural artist);
2) a metal enclosure for the Children’s program courtyard, themed “A Fantasy Garden” (blacksmith/metal artist);
3) pavement for the Children’s program courtyard (brick or stonemason);
4) two hearths for fireplaces (ceramic artist);
5) two decorative metal bicycle racks (blacksmith/metal artist); and
6) masonry or tile facing the exterior water feature (ceramic artist).
