Chatham Arts 2008 schedule of themes

ChathamArts Gallery is excited to inform you of the themes for the remainder of this year. Many of the themes are more concept driven than in previous years-not so media specific. They are to be interpreted broadly! There is no intention to exclude anyone or any media.
As always there is room in the gallery for woprk that is not in a monthly show. This years themes are as follows:

- May: "Annual Student Show" featuring selected works from area high school students.

- June: "Art in the Garden" featuring selected works from Chatham County artists including sculpture, whimsy, and interpretation.

- (July = “Extreme makeover” gallery closed)

- August: "Hot!" featuring selected works from Chatham County artists focusing on the inescapable heat of the "dog days" of August.

- September: "Over and Over" featuring selected works from Chatham County artists focusing on the use of recycled materials.

- October: "Tradition and Transformation" featuring selected works from Chatham County artists focusing on the history of Chatham
County.

- November: "Architectural Elements" featuring selected works from Chatham County artists focusing on the home.

- December: "100 Under 100" featuring selected works from Chatham county with the holiday artful gift giving season in mind: one hundred works priced under $100

Anyone wishing to be considered for Art in the Garden our June show, please contact me ASAP and let me know what media you will be using. Publicity for this show needs to go out soon.

The Seymour Center in Chapel Hill is looking for Artists & Crafters for their 1st Annual Art & Craft Show to be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 9 am until 3 pm.
