Area artist seeking help with chalk drawing

From Richard W. Cloudt [mailto:rcloudt@bellsouth.net]

I'm doing a piece of public, street art during an event Sept. 27 for a new neighborhood being built down near Fearrington in Pittsboro. They want me to fill a traffic circle with a pastel/chalk drawing in six hours (from 11am to 5pm)! Kids will be recruited to help during the event; but I'm definitely going to need at least a couple of other artists/adults to help me pull it off. There is money in it.

The organization building the neighborhood is Briar Chapel and the theme of the event is environmental sustainability: All of the houses in the neighborhood are being built with special materials, and they want a drawing that expresses that. I'm going to design the overall plan/drawing but would be willing to take ideas/input of other collaborators.

Anyone interested should contact me:

and Meg Economy with Raleigh on Cue, the agency handling the event:

thanks,
Richard
