2nd Annual Art in the Garden Show

in downtown Siler City


We invite you to exhibit at our 2nd Annual Art in the Garden Show sponsored by the North Carolina Arts Incubator in downtown Siler City.

This show will celebrate the talents of our finest local and regional artists. The show will be held on May 30 – 31st, 2008. There will be an evening reception Friday night and a free public show on Saturday, May 31, 2008.

The Art in the Garden show is held on the grounds of Bennie and Trudy Walters' elegant home at
6500 Siler City-Glendon Road,
Bear Creek, NC 27207.
 
Our Purpose:

- To establish an arts event which draws enthusiasts from throughout the Southeast region
- To increase exposure for local artists and businesses
- To promote cultural tourism and support for the arts in Siler City
- To stimulate community-wide involvement in the arts.

Eligible Work:
The show is open to all artists and fine crafts people producing original work. Reproductions of original work, such as posters and cards, may be sold, but may not occupy more than 15% of the total booth space. Commercially produced work from kits, or imported art and goods may not be exhibited.

Selection Process:
Selection is based on the following: technical proficiency, individual style/personal vision, and originality. Selection will be made by a jury of local merchants, community members and artisans.

Show Guidelines and Standards:
Artists must provide their own booths, racks and tables, in order to display their work in an outdoor environment. All artist must staff their booths for the duration of the show. Please leave your pets at home. Booth fees are $75 for a 10 x 10 space. No commission will be collected on sales. Each exhibitor is responsible for applicable sales tax.

Booth fee includes a ticket to an evening reception at the Walters' home, Friday May 30, 2008 for a “Meet the Artist” event. The North Carolina Arts Incubator will make every attempt to to safeguard the artists' work and property, but liability is ultimately the responsibility of the artist.

Application Procedure:
Please submit:

Completed application form plus a $75 check made out to NCAI. This will be returned if not accepted for the show. (Scroll down for applicaation form.)
Two clear photographs of your work, with process/material and descriptions.
By email: photographs of your images should be sent in jpg or pdf format.
By mail: Photographs of your images should be at least 4x6. If your images are on a CD, please send in jpg.file or pdf.file format. Also include a self-addressed Stamped envelope if you'd like your photographs or CD returned.
